TOWNHALL FORUM ON THE INCLUSION OF PERSONS WITH NEURODEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES
Participation in the voting process is every Kenyans civic duty and responsibility and is a show of patriotism and loyalty to the country. Under our Neurodigest program, we have a research project on Inclusion of the neurodiverse and their caregivers in the electioneering process. This is in partnership with the National Council for Persons With Disabilities. The introductory virtual townhall meeting on 14th July 2022 set the ball rolling with caregivers and persons with neurodevelopmental disabilities to pinpoint the major issues affecting them and their right to vote. The climax of this project is the Live Townhall Forum held at Signs Media TV. The recommendations from both forums have been submitted to the electoral body in Kenya, IEBC. It is our hope that these recommendations will open up channels of disussion so that the neurodiverse and their caregivers have an opportunity to participate fully in the electioneering process.
